A Platinum Blonde

Colour me russet or colour me raven dark,
Or maybe a blue streak, just for a lark.
Maybe honey or chocolate and cream
Any old colour that matches my dream.
Platinum blond to show I’m distinctive,
With a lowlight just there, stylishly instinctive.
Someone to pull out my grey hairs, my own Ornatrix,
Painful submission to ancient lunatics.
So perhaps I will wow them like another Monroe
Not a natural blonde but shimmering aglow.
A platinum blond or should I give in and stay
Not fifty or even twenty – but one shade of grey?
